CopyShot support

Set up your devices

  1. Open CopyShot on your Mac and choose the folder where received images should be stored.
  2. Connect your iPhone and Mac to the same local network. Allow local-network access when the system asks.
  3. On the Mac, choose File → Pair a Device….
  4. On the iPhone, choose Scan QR Code and scan the code shown on the Mac. Alternatively, choose Pair Nearby, select your Mac, and confirm that both devices show the same digits.
  5. Allow camera access, capture a photo or scan a batch, and send it to the Mac. Keep CopyShot open on both devices while transferring.

The Mac does not appear

Check that CopyShot is open on the Mac and pairing is open there. Check local-network permission in your device’s Settings or System Settings. Guest Wi-Fi networks may prevent devices from communicating; use a network that permits connections between your own devices.

If a VPN blocks local connections, check its local-network settings. You do not need to disable your firewall or expose CopyShot to the internet.

A transfer is waiting

Read the status shown in CopyShot on both devices. The Mac may be waiting for a library folder, storage space, or a recovery decision. Keep the phone app open while you resolve the message. Check the phone’s queued-work view before deleting anything.

If CopyShot offers Save to Photos, that action makes a separate copy in the iPhone photo library. iCloud Photos may synchronize it under your Photos settings.

Find received files or turn off automatic copying

The Mac app shows the chosen library folder. Open it in Finder to work with the files. In CopyShot Settings, turn off Copy received photos to the clipboard if you prefer to copy items yourself.

A library in iCloud or another synchronized folder follows that provider’s settings. CopyShot reports the storage status it can detect; it cannot detect every synchronization tool.

Send a useful support report

Tell us which app you used, its version, your iOS or macOS version, the steps you took, and the exact error message.

Send only information needed to explain the problem. Use a harmless sample image where possible. Do not send pairing QR codes, pairing secrets, passwords, or private documents. Remove personal details from screenshots before attaching them.

Identifiable support messages and attachments stay in Google Workspace. Only anonymized issue details are used in GitHub or Codex. See the privacy policy for retention and privacy requests.
